As a member of the acquisition committee, you help advance our mission by securing new funding and partnerships that support the growth of Talking Hands.
About Talking Hands Foundation
The Talking Hands Foundation is dedicated to supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals in Uganda, with a strong emphasis on education and inclusion. Together with local partners such as New Hope for the Deaf, we expand our impact and work toward a society where deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals can participate fully and equally.
Our projects aim to improve the position of deaf and hard-of-hearing people by supporting quality inclusive education, offering vocational training such as carpentry, tailoring, and crafts, and organizing awareness activities that promote understanding of deafness and inclusion within local communities.
What will you do?
Together with the acquisition board members and fellow committee members, you will actively seek out funding opportunities and build a valuable network. You will help write project proposals and support pitching them to potential funders.
Desired qualities
- Affinity with (international) development work and a commitment to social issues
- Experience in writing project proposals
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Time commitment
Time investment is flexible and depends on ongoing projects and fundraising activities. On average, expect 2 to 4 hours per week, with possible additional involvement around key deadlines.
