Volunteer Silver Line: weekly calls from the elderly from home

What is the Silver Line?

The Zilverlijn is a free call service for the elderly. The elderly give up because they want to have a chat. Often they come out of the house a little and they need to speak to someone on a regular basis. The Silver Line is not a helpline. It is a listening ear: it can be a nice chat or a good conversation.

Activities

• You call weekly 4 5 participants.
• Calls last about 20 minutes per participant.
• The participants you call change weekly.
• You provide a quiet environment in which you are undisturbed talk to the participants.

What do we ask?

• You are 18 years or older.
• You are enthusiastic and can to empathize yourself.
• You have an affinity with the target group of the elderly.
• You can listen carefully and have a conversation.
• You are available for a longer period of time on a permanent basis. morning or afternoon in the week (for a minimum of 3 months).
• You have experience with the computer and the internet.
• You have a mobile or fixed telephone and a desktop, laptop or a tablet with internet access.
