We are looking for young people who want to be a buddy for another young person who could use some help with, for example, language, connection, listening ear, social network, etc.
Are you or do you know someone between 17 and 35 with 1 or 2 hours of time per week living in Hilversum or Wijdemeren?
The Gooi & Vechtstreek Maatjesproject Foundation is looking for young people / young adults who want to be a buddy for another young person who could use some help.
We pair you with another young person, the participant, and depending on his or her needs, you will meet with this young person weekly for between 6 and 9 months.
For example, you will help with the Dutch language, help you find further education, set up your own social network, perhaps volunteer somewhere together. Exercising, just chatting or offering a listening ear. Everything is possible!
You will of course receive support through introductory training, intervision meetings and a coordinator who is your support and support.
What's important:
You are between 17 and 35 (approximately)
You master the Dutch language.
You have an open attitude and are curious about other cultures and/or lifestyles.
You are flexible and patient.
You are easily accessible.
You are reliable in making appointments.

The Maatjesproject facilitates its volunteers as best as possible; there is an introductory workshop, there are regular buddy meetings, you will have a permanent contact person and we organize fun meetings with all volunteers, such as an evening at the film theater and an afternoon boat trip.
