Summary

As a voluntary coach you play an important role on this journey in guiding the families, and you can actually make a difference in someone's life

Detailed description

Who are we?

Stadslink is an idealistic foundation that operates as a social enterprise. Stadslink wants to promote the economic and social independence of people. We do this by thinking differently and working differently.

Stadslink is small but does great work. Started in The Hague, flew to Leiden.

The city is a breeding ground for dreams & talents. In order to give shape to these dreams, Stadslink devises workable concepts in collaboration with the city and its residents. Concepts in which citizens can discover & practice their talents. And with which a network of involved citizens is created across the city. A network where fellow citizens can use their knowledge, their contacts, their donation or their free time and where people support each other and collaborate on the basis of shared ideas.

Activities

The Learning Dreams project is a program that helps children who are having difficulties at school in an innovative way. Not by supporting the children in school, but by working with voluntary coaches from the city to realize the dreams of the parents. Parents and children learn (again) how to use their talents and a culture of learning is created in the family and in the neighbourhood.

Who are you?

We need you for this! As a voluntary coach you play an important role on this journey in guiding the families, and you can actually make a difference in someone's life!

You don't need any experience for this. You will receive a two-part basic training (total of 5 hours) in which you learn our 'Learning Dreams' method, plus the option of additional training during the process to improve your coaching skills!

Would you like to contribute to giving families in The Hague a chance? Then Stadslink's 'Learning Dreams' project is definitely for you!

A volunteer coach is someone who:

  • Would like to help others
  • live in The Hague area
  • easy to contact
  • has a positive attitude
  • is reliable and adheres to agreements.

We offer

  • the ability to be meaningful to society
  • the chance to really start coaching and make a difference
  • the opportunity to use and further explore your own talents
  • the chance to build a network
  • training and guidance so that you can develop yourself as a person and as a coach
  • getting to know other enthusiastic volunteer coaches

Time use

  • 1-2 hours a week (in consultation with the family)
