Buddy "company" for seniors

For a part of the day a week, for a longer period of time, offer an elderly resident of Wageningen distraction by having a chat, walking or possibly going shopping together. It's about having fun together.

Job description:

Once a week, for a longer period of time, you visit an elderly resident of Wageningen for a morning, afternoon or evening to offer them some fun and distraction. Drinking tea together, playing a game, going for a walk or running errands. Offering a listening ear is also part of this. There is room for your own interpretation in consultation with the person you are visiting. It is about having a good time together, whether it concerns socializing or a good conversation, or an activity that you undertake together.

Job requirements:

you enjoy socializing with the elderly; you have a good sense of empathy; you can take at least 2 hours off per week

What do you have to offer the volunteer ?:

Each volunteer receives basic training for care volunteers of 2 half-days. Specializations appropriate to the position follow after the basic training. You will receive good substantive guidance by a professional from Mantelzorg Wageningen;
