Detailed description

Do you like children, and would you like to introduce a young family to Wageningen? Then this is something for you! You visit a mother with a young child (ren) every week, who has not been living in the Netherlands for very long. You spend time together, fun and learning from each other is paramount!

Job description:

You drink tea together every week and socialize. You familiarize mother a little with Wageningen, for example to a 10-minute conversation at school, playground, consultation office, the library and community center. Maybe you play a game with the family or go to a (free) activity.

Job requirements:

You don't have to be a super educator, socializing and doing it together is the most important! You enjoy getting to know a different culture. You can listen carefully and empathize. It is nice if you are available for at least 3 months, 2 hours a week.

What do you have to offer the volunteer ?:

You will be guided by the coordinators, follow the training for new volunteers, and you can participate in peer meetings where you share experiences with the other volunteers. You can participate in all kinds of free training and volunteer courses !.

What makes the work worthwhile ?:

It is fun and rewarding volunteering. You can come into contact with other cultures. You can indicate your preference, we try to make a match with a family that fits well with your preferences.

Working time:

2 hours per week in consultation.
