Do you enjoy cooking and like keeping an overview in a kitchen? Do you want to contribute to a cozy and well-organized neighborhood meal? Become a volunteer at the Cooking Workshop in De Nude!
Solidez Welzijn is a welfare organization for all residents of Wageningen. Every first Friday of the month, we organize a neighborhood meal at Huis van de Wijk De Nude with and for residents of the neighborhood. For the Cooking Workshop, we are looking for a volunteer to take on the role of kitchen coordinator / (volunteer) chef on the day of the meal.
What are you going to do?
• You work together with other volunteers in the kitchen and provide direction to the kitchen activities in a calm and clear manner.
• Around 3:30 PM, start the preparations and take stock of the kitchen.
• The meal, prepared by participants of the day activity program, is heated up, beautifully presented, and served under your coordination.
• You monitor the preparation process and ensure that everything runs on time and correctly.
• You are responsible for quality control: you taste and evaluate all dishes for flavor and presentation before they are served to the guests.
• Afterwards, you help clean the kitchen according to HACCP guidelines.
What do we ask?
• You enjoy cooking and have experience in a kitchen environment.
• You enjoy maintaining an overview and coordinating the kitchen in a natural way.
• You collaborate well and know how to bring others along in a positive way.
• You are clear, calm, and practically minded, and work based on collaboration and equality while guiding and supporting the team.
• You contribute to a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere where everyone can work comfortably.
• You are available on the first Friday of the month, from 15:30 until after the meal (approximately 21:00–21:30).
