Scouting is a challenge! At Scouting, children and young people spend their free time in nature in an active and challenging way. They have a lot of fun with each other and learn to work together and to respect others. In this way, children and young people develop in a natural way into independent people and they are given the space to discover and learn. There are different types of Scouting: land scouting, water scouting and air scouting. Scouts with a disability can also participate in the Scouting Game. Within a Scouting group there are different game branches in which children and young people from one age group play their game. Scouting James Lovell is a real land scouting group. Scouting Nederland is the largest youth and youth organization in the Netherlands and has 100,000 active members! The 87,000 youth members and 25,000 volunteers of Scouting are spread over more than 1,100 Scouting groups. \ N \nActivities \n \nThe James Lovell is a small, active Scouting group with members in every age category. For the little ones there is the Beavers. Children in the ages of 5 to 7 can enjoy sports and games here. Until the age of 11 you go to the Welpen. The children are introduced to the Scouting techniques in a playful way. A varied program of sports, games and creativity keeps the children busy every Saturday. From the age of 11 to 15, the children come to the Scouts. In this group members learn Scouting techniques such as navigating and pioneering (building with wooden poles and rope). These techniques are of course used on our camps, hikes and other events. If you have passed the age of 15, you will join our Explorers group. These experienced members are guided by their leadership and determine their own attendance. This great degree of freedom often provides original turnout ideas. They also support the group where necessary. The Explorers have a turnout every Thursday evening. For support there is an expert board and a team of people who ensure that the building is well managed and used for ourselves, but also for tenants who want to use our facilities.
