Join our team and make a difference in the life of a homeless child by volunteering just one hour a week. Volunteer tutors are needed in Compton at shelters located in residential neighborhoods. No previous tutoring or teaching experience is required, only a love of learning and a willingness to make a real and lasting impact on a young person's life.
School on Wheels is a nonprofit organization that has been providing educational assistance to homeless children since 1993. Apply to be a School on Wheels tutor and in one hour a week you can impact two lives: yours and theirs. As a tutor and mentor, you will help your student to fill in the gaps in their education, and you will learn from them, too. Our wonderful staff provides all training and support.
