Finding your way in a new place: that is easier with others. Samen Hier is therefore committed to welcoming refugees in The Hague.
As a new student, who showed you the best spots in the city? Who motivated you to have a coffee with that promising company? Or who did you tip about that cool house and was ready with paint and rollers?
Finding your way in a new place: that is easier with others. Samen Hier is a movement of residents who are committed to receiving and welcoming refugees in The Hague.
Join us too. Start a Welcome Group together with five of your friends, colleagues, neighbors or acquaintances and match yourself with a refugee (family) for one year. In this year you will share your interests, knowledge and networks. You set concrete objectives together with the refugee.
The Hague human rights organization Justice and Peace supports you with training and guidance, and through Samen Hier events you exchange experiences with other groups. Of course we take the applicable COVID-19 measures into account.

Samen Hier connects (friends) groups of five Dutch people to an individual refugee or family based on interests, by means of an innovative algorithm. To accelerate integration in Almere, The Hague, Haarlem and Rotterdam.
The aim is to help the refugee (s) to find their way in our society, with the social (and professional) network, knowledge and time of the Welcome Group.
Not only can this project create beautiful friendships and bridge cultural differences, but here we all contribute to a society of cooperation.
