Supporting vulnerable Amsterdammers. The Red Cross Amsterdam-Amstelland (RKA) does not just come into action in direct emergency situations, we continuously support Amsterdam with our local projects. Examples of this are event assistance, various buddy projects and the strengthening of self-sufficiency of vulnerable Amsterdammers; an overview of all our local work can be found here . We want to promote these activities in and around Amsterdam and to raise funds during the Red Cross Week 2018 (24 to 30 June).
How
A querilla action through the city. RKA is planning an action aimed at well-visited Amsterdam terraces. Voluntary collectors are driven with RKA buses along these squares and briefly deposited after which they go to the terraces to collect. The buses and drivers remain on the squares for visibility and information provision. The style of the action is short, concise and direct; work name action: 'Guerrilla Collecte'.
In order to bring her credo 'By Amsterdammers, for Amsterdammers' to the attention, RKA finds it necessary to get in touch with the entire district. that is why locations are visited throughout the city. So, this form of collecting is meant for companies / teams that want to contribute to RKA projects in the capillaries of Amsterdam by means of rapid and enthusiastic action.
When
Shifts can be filled in, in consultation with RKA, on the basis of the wishes and availability of the partner organization; provisional classification is as follows:
- Mon 25/6 15: 00-18: 00 & 18: 00-21: 00
- Tue 26/6 15: 00-18: 00 & 18: 00-21: 00
- Wed 27/6 15: 00-18: 00 & 18: 00-21: 00
- Fr 28/6 15: 00-18: 00 & 18: 00-21: 00
- Sat 29/6 15: 00-18: 00 & 18: 00-21: 00
What to expect
- we provide all necessary information about our local RKA projects;
- briefing short for agreed shifts;
- collecting for about 3 hours.
Good to know
RKA supplies, organizes and coordinates everything except the deployment of the (highly) needed volunteers. RKA can fulfill (logistical) wishes of the partner organization such as the investment of an information evening about the local work of RKA or the collection and removal of volunteers on location.
