Take action for the Red Cross

In North and East Gelderland we are looking for enthusiastic information officers/game leaders for our education team. The Red Cross has developed various interactive guest lessons and activities for education. Our goal is to teach children and young people an attitude of respect, willingness to help and self-reliance. With our guest lectures, we support schools in achieving their citizenship goals.

By attending regional and national training courses, you become familiar with the teaching materials and ideas of the Red Cross. That way you will be well prepared. The training focuses on the application of didactic techniques. Our guest lessons are given in pairs so that you are always in front of a group with a different information officer.

What are you going to do?

You will give guest lectures and/or act as a game leader. You introduce students to one or more of the following topics: international emergency aid, self-reliance, willingness to help, first aid and humanitarian law of war. The target group consists of children and young people aged 8 to 23 in primary education, secondary education and MBO.

You provide at least 6-8 guest lessons per year

You attend training and practice sessions

· You work and think along with our education team, so that we reach as many young people and children as possible

Who are you?

· You have good communication skills and you enjoy standing in front of a group.

· During school weeks you are regularly available during the day to give guest lessons, this is in consultation

· You are digitally skilled; online teaching materials and a digiboard or beamer are used in the lessons

· You subscribe to the seven basic principles of the Red Cross
