Coordinator Education (volunteer) Gelderland

The education team offers various teaching programs. The guest lessons are provided by a team of specially trained volunteers. The aim of the activities is to increase respect, willingness to help and self-reliance among children and young people .

We do this with the Plaster Race and a lesson on first aid (primary education only), Humanitarian Law of War , the Humanity Game on international aid, the dilemma game Hero of Humanity and the Woeste Wereld , a lesson on natural disasters. With these activities, the Red Cross supports schools in fulfilling statutory citizenship goals.

In 2022, we will have reached about 3,000 young people and children in Gelderland with more than 100 guest lessons and games. Our goal for 2023 is to further expand the team and reach more schools, pupils and students. For this reason there is room for an extra coordinator.

Position in the organization

The Education Coordinator is part of a regional education team. There is collaboration with the other education coordinators, relationship manager schools and the education project leaders. This team currently consists of 6 people for Gelderland. In addition, there is regular contact with the guest lecturers.

What are you going to do?

· Scheduling guest lessons;

· Conducting intake interviews with potential advisors together with the project leader;

Enter guest lessons and manage activity in our automation system;

· Establish and maintain contact with teachers at schools about guest lectures.

Who are you

· You are good at planning and organizing activities;

· You have good communication skills;

· You can handle Office well and quickly master other software;

· You have about 12 hours of available time per week, on weekdays;

· Preferably you have an affinity with education and / or the target group.
