Supervisor Contact Circle (voluntary)

The Dutch Red Cross has 23 districts. The North-East Gelderland district is based in Apeldoorn and is supported by a small professional team that, together with the locations and volunteers, is committed to providing assistance to people in need. This concerns emergency aid, population care, food and shelter, event assistance, first aid education, activities in the field of prevention, well-prepared and information.

The Contact Circle: do you complete the circle for us?

The Contact Circle is part of our 'Well Prepared' program. This program aims to prepare people for emergencies so that you know what to do and can prevent problems.

The Contact Circle is a group of people who together form a circle by having telephone contact with each other every day to ask if everything is going well. The purpose of the circle is that a participant never goes unnoticed for more than 24 hours. In addition, the circle also functions as an information channel in times of emergency. After all, it is not self-evident for everyone to speak to someone every day, to have a lot of contact with others or to call on others.

As a volunteer you are part of a group of volunteers with a coordinator who sets up and leads the contact circles. You are one of those who calls the people in the contact circle every week to check how they are doing. Each participant of the contact circle has his own list of contacts who can be contacted in case of an emergency.

What are you going to do?

• You will work within the 'Well Prepared' program in the contact circle, which consists of volunteers, one coordinator and the people who have signed up for the contact circle.
• You conduct weekly telephone conversations from home with the people who have signed up for the contact circle.
• You make known in your own environment that this contact circle exists and you propose this contact circle as a form of help for people who may need this.
• It is possible to start your own contact circle in consultation in your own environment if there is a need for this.
• Your own availability for this position in the contact circle can be discussed with the coordinator.

What do we ask?

• You are 18 years or older.
• You live in Apeldoorn eo
• You have your own telephone at your disposal.
• You have empathy and good communication and social skills.
• You act as an information channel between the Red Cross and the participants.
• You have an affinity with the Red Cross and 'Well Prepared'.
• You identify an emergency and take steps to overcome the emergency.
• You join any meetings and meetings of the contact circle.
