UNICEF has a mission: to ensure that every country respects and respects the rights of children, as laid down in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. UNICEF works together with governments, companies, individuals and children themselves to fulfill this assignment in the best possible way. In the Netherlands we are helped by several thousand volunteers. Through their active commitment, these volunteers in the Netherlands contribute to the work of UNICEF.

With this 'unpaid but unaffordable work' you contribute to the well-being of children around the world.

Information

Through guest lessons at primary schools we tell children about the work of UNICEF. We tell children about children's rights and why it is so important to know about this.

Tasks

• Helps approach schools in the region
• Helps to think about how schools in the region are approached for a guest lesson
• Giving guest lessons in (mostly) the upper groups of primary education) and the lower classes of secondary education.

What can you expect

• All youth information workers participate in the training. (1 day)
• Basic training for volunteers at UNICEF is available
• You are part of a national network of volunteers
• Support from the UNICEF Netherlands office
• Guest lesson material is available for all youth information officers
• Travel expenses to schools may be claimed
