Reading to Kids hosts fun and engaging monthly reading clubs on the second Saturday of every month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Our reading clubs serve students in underserved Los Angeles communities and are hosted at 9 different elementary schools in the Pico-Union and Westlake areas.

  • Help create a positive and encouraging reading experience

No teaching experience is required. Sessions are structured and supported by teachers and experienced volunteers.

This is a great opportunity if you enjoy working with kids, want to give back, or are looking for a flexible monthly volunteer activity!

About READING TO KIDS

Reading to Kids organizes monthly reading clubs on the second Saturday of every month at eight downtown Los Angeles elementary schools. The reading clubs run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pairs of volunteer readers read aloud to small groups of students from the elementary school (typically between 4 and 6 children per group) in a fun environment. Teachers at the elementary school provide supervision and guidance throughout the morning.

To volunteer at our next reading clubs, please visit http://www.readingtokids.org where you'll need to register and RSVP. For more information, please feel free to e-mail us at info@readingtokids.org or call (310) 479-7455.
