Detailed description

Reading to Kids organizes monthly reading clubs on the second Saturday of every month at eight downtown Los Angeles elementary schools. The reading clubs run from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Pairs of volunteer readers read aloud to small groups of students from the elementary school (typically between 4 and 6 children per group) in a fun environment. Teachers at the elementary school provide supervision and guidance throughout the morning.

Volunteers must be 18 or older to volunteer with Reading to Kids.


Volunteers for reading clubs are encouraged but not required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with LAUSD COVID-19 regulations. Wearing masks while indoors at the reading clubs is highly encouraged. The kids will also be encouraged to wear masks while indoors

About READING TO KIDS
