Music volunteer Taize in Amsterdam

Would you like to contribute with your musical talents to the Christian spiritual youth community Taizé in Amsterdam, become part of a cozy and close-knit group of people and gain musical experience? Then we hope to hear from you. We are looking for a music volunteer for Taizé in Amsterdam.

This is what you will do

As a music volunteer you are a highly valued member of the team. You work on the heart of Taizé in Amsterdam: the music. Together with youth worker Stacey you choose the songs for the celebrations, take the lead in practicing with a group of interested people of 4 to 10 people and ensure that the sound system works well on the evening itself. Thanks to you, the visitors of the Taizé celebration have a special musical experience.

In practice, this involves one musical celebration on the first Thursday of the month and a rehearsal meeting on the last Thursday of the month. In addition, there are some rules matters and you prepare the practice sessions.

Taizé in Amsterdam is a community for young people up to about 35 years old, inspired by the spirituality of the community of brothers in France. With music and silence we create peace and beauty in a troubled world. This way we can come into a deeper connection with ourselves, each other, God and the world around us. In addition to musical gatherings, we organize theme talks, meals, in-depth activities and creative evenings.

You bring this

• Enthusiasm to participate in a musical youth community
• Interest and affinity with Taizé and the Taizé songs
• A good singing voice and the qualities to teach voices to the choir, or willing to develop this further.
• Knowledge of sound systems or willing to learn.
• Room to dedicate approximately 20 hours a month to Taizé in Amsterdam. You can arrange part of the hours flexibly from home. There are no meetings during the summer months.
