About Project Soar

Project Soar's mission is to empower teenage girls in the developing world. Our priority is to expand the Project Soar (PS) curriculum which addresses the gender gap through 50 empowerment workshops designed to keep girls in school and prepare them for productive, fulfilled futures. PS provides an opportunity for every girl to know her Value, Voice, Body, Rights and Path, promoting collective girl action in communities, improving democracy and giving girls a voice.

Founded in 2013, PS has worked with more than 700 Moroccan girls, providing over 2000 hours of after-school support, in villages where the household income is under $10/day and 70% of parents are illiterate. After three years of successful programming at the flagship location, PS is expanding to satellite locations and currently operates in more than 20 villages. Project Soar in a Box (PSB) brings the curriculum, supplies and support of PS to adolescent girls throughout Morocco. Additionally at the headquarters in Marrakech, PS offers critical after-school programming to develop a strong sense of self and increase academic success, as well as activities such as sports, a reading club, and a safe space to complete homework, play games, and spend time with friends.

Project Soar is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization, registered in the U.S. and in Morocco.
