Meet & Eat for refugees on Christmas Eve

Present Apeldoorn organizes Meet & Eat on Christmas Eve in collaboration with the COA! During Meet & Eat, host families from Apeldoorn and Beekbergen receive several residents from the AZC to eat together. For many AZC residents, Christmas is a difficult time, because they are far away from their closest family and friends. How special it would be if they were welcome to celebrate Christmas with you.

You receive two (or more) refugees at the table and you eat together. Eating together connects, the meeting helps in the integration and so much more understanding is created on both sides.

We organize Meet & Eat for AZC locations; Apeldoorn and Beekbergen:

– AZC Apeldoorn, Deventerstraat 461. Here 400 people from different countries stay. People alone, but also families.

– AZC Beekbergen, Schalterdalweg 18, Beekbergen. Here 160 people from different countries stay. People alone, but also families.

To make this evening possible, we are looking for host families who live in and around Apeldoorn. On Christmas Eve, December 24, you pick up the people at 5:00 PM at the reception of the AZC and take them home. You can cook for them, but you can also prepare the Christmas meal together. Afterwards, you bring the guests back to the AZC.

On the registration form you can indicate at which location you want to pick up residents. You can also indicate how many people you want to receive, whether a family is welcome or only adults. Based on all registrations we try to make the best possible 'match'. You will receive information about this by email in the week before Christmas.
