Board member (Treasurer / Secretary)

The Environmental Education Foundation facilitates education in the region. Our mission is to unburden schools in the domains of Nature, Sustainability and Cultural Heritage. We develop (together with the schools) educational projects such as Vesting Naarden, the Erfgooiers or nature in the region, but also sustainable themes such as waste, energy and sustainable entrepreneurship. In addition, we act as broker and coordinator for many other organizations in the region that offer additional programs in this area to the schools.

The Foundation employs three part-time employees, in total a staff of 1.1 FTE. They are the developers of the projects and the link between the schools and the cooperating partners. An administration office takes care of the accounting.

Environmental education has a board of 8 involved members, who contribute knowledge and skills in the various domains. The General Board meets 2x a year, the daily board of 4 members meets 4x a year.

In addition to the formal matters concerning the finances ca, the board is involved in the development of policy, the adoption of the multi-year plan and thus supports the employees.

Due to the resignation of two board members who have reached their maximum administrative term, we are looking to strengthen the board. We are looking for people who have knowledge / experience / affinity with one of the focus areas of our foundation, preferably with a background / role within or around education, or local government or with children and nature / sustainability and / or cultural heritage.

We have an expense scheme for voluntary drivers. We are mainly looking for directors in the position of secretary and treasurer. This function can be combined.

In particular, the secretary prepares the minutes of the meetings.

The treasurer is the contact person with the administrator, makes the payments, advises the board on the progress of the activities in relation to the agreements made and the financial risks and is responsible for the annual financial report.
