As a volunteer, together with participants, interns, other volunteers, and professionals, you ensure the content of the daily program and a pleasant atmosphere.
Job description
You take care of practical matters such as coffee, tea, and lunch, as well as the organization and execution of activities. For example, a game, something creative like making a collage, facilitating a themed discussion, or a musical activity.
Your own initiatives that can contribute to a meaningful day are welcome!
Who are we looking for?
You want to empathize with the experiences of people with dementia and their loved ones. You are a good listener and are able to put your own experiences in the background. You allow room for people's autonomy and have a supportive attitude and a flexible mindset.
What do we offer?
Every day is different and there is great variety. You are given the freedom to shape the course of the day and the activities together with the day's team. Experienced volunteers and professionals support you in this. You work in an open and relaxed atmosphere where there is plenty of laughter.
What makes the work worthwhile?
You come into contact with a diverse range of people, leading to special encounters. You contribute to the well-being of the participants, who can be themselves and go home feeling good at the end of the day.
Working days and times?
For Thursday, we are preferably looking for a volunteer for the whole day (or 2 volunteers who are willing to take on half a day each).
A morning session is from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM, and an afternoon session is from 1:00 PM to 4:45 PM.
