Who are we?
The Odense House is a meeting center and offers a place for people with memory problems and their loved ones to share experiences and exchange information.
The Odensehuis has the character of a living room in which supportive and creative activities can be undertaken. Attendees can distract their thoughts from the faltering brain or gain more insight into it in a relaxed atmosphere.
What are you going to do?
As a volunteer, you will work with participants, interns, other volunteers and professionals to ensure the content of the daily program and a smooth running of the day. You will take care of practical matters such as coffee, tea and lunch and the organization and execution of activities. For example, a game, something creative such as making a collage, guiding a theme discussion or musical activity.
Your own initiatives that can contribute to a meaningful day are welcome!
Who are we looking for?
You want to empathize with the world of experience of people with dementia and their loved ones. You are a good listener and are able to place your own experiences in the background. You leave room for people's own direction and have a supportive attitude and a flexible attitude.
What do we offer?
Every day is different and the variety is great. You are given the space to shape the course of the day and the activities together with the team of the day. Experienced volunteers and professionals support you in this. You work in an open and relaxed atmosphere in which there is a lot of laughter.
What makes the work worthwhile?
You are in contact with a diversity of people and therefore have special encounters. You contribute to the well-being of the participants who can be themselves and go home with a good feeling at the end of the day.

A private place where people can be themselves, meet each other and where there is room to participate based on their own possibilities. The Odensehuis supports and encourages people with early dementia to remain active and independent for as long as possible. Participants, volunteers and professionals jointly organize the day.
