Open the doors of Museumhuis Beeckestijn

Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten has been committed to the preservation of architecturally or historically valuable buildings and their interior since 1918. The association does this by acquiring properties and then restoring and renting them out. Once acquired, properties are never relinquished. The houses are preserved by using them. Many of the properties are rented out as a residential home, business premises or holiday home. A number of special buildings such as Beeckestijn can be visited as museum houses. Together, the 13 museum houses represent 500 years of national residential history.

What are we looking for?

Buitenplaats Beeckestijn is looking for enthusiastic (core) volunteers with good social and communication skills.

No specific prior knowledge is required. Interest in architecture and/or the history of the region is desirable.

Hendrick de Keyser Monumenten offers its volunteers a special workplace at Buitenplaats Beeckestijn where you work together with enthusiastic fellow volunteers. You will receive a personal access pass that gives you access to all museum houses of the Association. You can also participate in an interesting lecture program.

What are we asking? As a volunteer at Beeckestijn you receive visitors with a hospitable welcome, scan the tickets, hand out a brochure about Beeckestijn and (if desired) give a short introduction about the house and serve a cup of tea/coffee in the cozy kitchen of Beeckestijn.

As a core volunteer you are available for approximately two half-days per week and as a volunteer you are available for approximately three half-days per month. A half day is approximately 3.5 hours per week.
