Summary
We are looking for mentors for various clients who can help them make decisions about care, nursing, treatment and guidance.
Detailed description
A mentor is a legal representative in decisions about housing, welfare, care and nursing of vulnerable clients.
What does a mentor do?
A mentor is the legal representative of people who are unable to adequately represent themselves in healthcare and welfare matters. These include people with dementia, psychiatric disorders, or intellectual disabilities.
A mentor is someone who regularly visits their client, gets to know them, and understands their needs and values. They are also someone who can make decisions regarding care and well-being that the client cannot make themselves because they don't understand them or can't foresee the consequences.

Mentorship Foundation Overijssel Gelderland
The Overijssel Gelderland Mentorship Foundation advises and supports people who are unable to advocate for themselves and have no family or other support to rely on in finding a mentor (legal representative). The subdistrict court judge then establishes a mentorship, which is carried out by the volunteer under the responsibility of the Overijssel Gelderland Mentorship Foundation. We carefully consider the right match between mentor and client, with the wishes of both parties as our starting point.
Do you want to make a difference for one of our clients? Are you a strong communicator, proactive, independent, and honest? Then mentoring is for you.
We offer:
Valuable and responsible volunteer work with personal contact, opportunities for personal input, flexible hours, training, guidance, and support, (social) work experience on your resume, and reimbursement for expenses. It's a fascinating volunteer position with a twist.
A Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) is part of the procedure.
Working hours:
Working hours are flexible, in consultation with the client. Day or evening, weekday or weekend? The choice is yours. The average time commitment is 8-10 hours per month.
