Social enterprise KadoLokaal is looking for you to keep the shop running!

KadoLokaal is a gift shop in the center of Wageningen; a collaboration between care organization Match and Work and the practical education of the Pantarijn. KadoLokaal wants to contribute to an inclusive society: a society that offers every person opportunities.

At KadoLokaal you will find original and handmade gifts. Each with their own story, because made by students and clients, but also by small local entrepreneurs and artists. In addition, KadoLokaal is the address in the city center for various regional products and nice plants.

There is no education in weekends and holidays, and no daytime activities. Particularly on those days we have a lot of customers in the shop, so we need you to keep the store open!

Do you endorse the objective of Kadolokaal, and do you like gifts and people? Then we are looking forward to meeting you. Please contact us if you have any questions or if you want to participate!

Your duties:

•     Keep the shop running for one part of the day. You open the store, start up the cash register and you water the plants if needed. You help the customers and wrap the presents. You answer the questions of customers and hope to make them enthusiastic about the store by telling them the story of KadoLokaal

•     Sometimes: supervising a student from practical education or from the Pantarijn.

•     If you would like to, there are several other tasks to do. Think about washing the aprons, keeping the store tidied up and clean, making the roster, thinking along in communication and social media.

What do we ask?

•     Customer-friendly attitude.

•     Being available at least one half-day every four weeks (Friday afternoon, Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon)

•     Being able to work independently after an induction period.

•     This vacancy is also open to English-speaking volunteers.

What do we offer?

•     We work together as a team! You are part of a group of about 12 enthusiastic volunteers.

•     We make sure you’re being prepared for your tasks by telling you in the ins and outs of the shop

•     The shopping schedule is made at least one month in advance. Of course, we take your preferences into account. Usually we have scheduled two volunteers to make sure you’re not alone on the job.

•     We offer a volunteer contract to all our volunteers.
