Youth panel Stede Broec, Enkhuizen, Drechtland - JWF in Action

The youth panel is an initiative of Jong Westfriesland in Actie (JWF in Actie) in collaboration with a number of municipalities in Westfriesland. JWF in Actie from Vrijwilligerspunt is for young people in West Friesland (13-30 years old), aimed at doing voluntary work. The aim of the Youth Panel is to increase the involvement of young people within the municipalities and local organizations and associations and to give more young people a voice locally. The Youth Panel meets monthly and will be engaged in thinking about local issues and possibly organizing or supporting local activities.

The Youth Panel for the municipalities of Stedebroec, Enkhuizen and Dcherland started in September 2020 and is a great success!

What does the Youth Panel do?

Topics dealt with by the Youth Panel come from the young people themselves and the municipalities in West Friesland, but can also come from local organizations or associations. Examples of this are:

• alcohol and drug use
• environment and sustainability
• housing
• youth assistance
• youth participation

In addition, members of the panel sometimes also help design or organize local projects and activities.

Meetings

Meetings / meetings take place approximately twice a month, both online and in person (for a physical meeting, the travel costs are reimbursed). Speakers may also be invited to these meetings and you will receive training in debating, for example.

By participating in the Youth Panel, you become more involved in your municipality and do something good for others and for yourself. It looks good on your CV, you expand your network and you receive a gift voucher worth 50 euros.

Participation in the Youth Panel is also possible as an MDT project.
