Care volunteer Johannes Hospitium

Are you caring and do you not turn your hand around for household tasks? Come and help our nurses care for the guests in the hospice! Healthcare experience is not necessary. We provide loving and hospitable care for seriously ill people during the last phase of their lives.

You work in varying shifts, at least one shift per week.

In a month, this involves three morning, afternoon or evening shifts of approximately 5.5 hours during the week and once a 5-hour shift at the weekend or a sleeping shift.

You will be well trained and supervised. Working in our hospice is meaningful work in a warm, open and cozy atmosphere.

Working hours, frequency and duration:

Morning, afternoon, evening shifts of 5.5 hours.

Sleeping services in consultation.

Skills:

Care experience is not necessary, but affinity with care and guidance is required. Willingness to follow courses and attend team meetings. 'Being there' is an important attitude for volunteers towards guests and their families.

General:

A cozy and informal organization in which we take care of the last phase of our guests together.

Induction method and guidance:

The volunteers are trained for a few weeks by a nurse or care provider, after which an evaluation takes place. There are regular volunteer meetings where news about policy, organisation, assistance and cooperation are central. Training courses are offered regularly.

Schooling:

Various courses, including in the field of palliative care, lifting skills, hygiene, foot massage, aromatherapy, psychosocial aspects.

Expense allowance: Travel expenses only.
