Who are we?

The Neighboring Foundation is an interdenominational volunteer organization.

The committed and inspiring volunteers support (ex) prisoners so that they can gain more control over their lives.

Both in prison and outside.

The experiences, qualities, talents and motivation of volunteers make them a colorful whole.

We are active in the Stedendriehoek region (Zutphen, Apeldoorn, Deventer) and Achterhoek.

Activities

When visiting a prisoner in prison or an ex-prisoner outside, offering a listening ear or sounding board is very important. They often live in social isolation.

You offer help with 'hands behind your back'.

We ask

You are enthusiastic and motivated.

You can listen well and empathize with others.

You make contact easily and can indicate your boundaries.

We offer

You will experience how valuable it is to dedicate yourself to our target group.

You will receive good personal guidance.

You will be offered various training courses and intervision.

You will be invited to the volunteer meetings that take place once every 7 weeks.

You will receive a volunteer agreement and expense reimbursement.

We will apply for a Certificate of Good Conduct for you.

Time commitment

You can determine this yourself in consultation. The volunteers spend an average of 4 hours every 2 weeks.
