Detailed description
VN sees nature as the best classroom for children. A place where they get all the space they need to discover the world, learn and grow in a playful way. In De Loonse and Drunense Duinen National Park we offer various nature experience programs for primary education.
Voluntary school guides wanted
Do you enjoy sharing your love and enthusiasm for nature with children? Do you feel like and have time on school days to get started with one of our nature experience programs? Then becoming a school guide in National Park De Loonse and Drunense Duinen might be something for you.
Training as a school guide Friday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Friday, August 23, we provide a school guide course for new volunteers. After this one-day training, you will walk along with experienced school guides a number of times until you are ready to work independently.
About our school programs
We have a different program for every age group in primary education. The program always lasts for half a day: morning or afternoon. A short description of the programs can be found at https://www.ivn.nl/scholenprogramma-ldd . All programs focus specifically on the wonder of nature in the Loonse and Drunense Duinen. The animals, plants and all phenomena associated with this special area are discussed.
Why is school guide becoming so fun and interesting?
It is special to let children in this phase of life wonder about nature. You really touch children. They enjoy the sand, the weather, the plants and the animals. You also see the behavior of children changing positively; they look more consciously and get more respect for nature. Working as a school guide gives you satisfaction. You have fun contacts with other school guides and you are part of a network of like-minded people where you learn from each other and from the children. In addition, you are naturally enjoying the outdoors.
