The board is looking for a director with the Youth portfolio. This portfolio includes the Home-Start, Mammacafé and VoorleesExpress activities.

Board member (volunteer) Portfolio holder Youth activities:

Humanitas is there for people who just can't make it on their own. The service is personal and small-scale. People-to-people contacts are organized locally. That approach works. Each year, our more than 23,000 volunteers help around 62,000 people to change their situation on their own.

Humanitas department Nederrijn is one of the 78 departments of Humanitas. Our working area includes the municipalities of Ede, Renkum, Rhenen, Veenendaal and Wageningen. Every year, our 180 volunteers support 290 participants.

 

The primary task of our board is to facilitate local Humanitas activities on the three themes: Parenting, Loneliness and Home Administration. In addition, the board is responsible for internal and external communication and the acquisition of subsidies and funds. All this in collaboration with a professional district office.

 

The wallet:

At the moment, the portfolio includes the activities related to the Education theme:

· Humanitas Home-Start Do you have a young family? And do you ever need parenting support? Home-Start helps you. Raising children with practical help, useful tips and friendly contact? It's possible. A volunteer is available every week. For families with at least 1 child up to the age of 18.

· Humanitas Mammacafé a meeting place for (grand)parents with young children to exchange ideas.

· VoorleesExpress ensures that children aged 2 to 8 with a language deficiency receive extra attention. We read aloud, play language games and work with the parents on language and reading pleasure.

 

The tasks:

· You are responsible for the proper functioning of the department's activities

· Supporting the coordinators in drawing up plans and leading the activity

Inform themselves about policy plans of municipalities and authorities in the field of welfare, care and services, transitions and decentralizations

· Advises the board on relevant developments within the field of Humanitas assistance

· Develop initiatives for new activities within the framework of the departmental policy plan

· Manage the budget for the activities in consultation with the finance portfolio holder.

· Consultation with other relevant providers in the region

· Maintaining contacts with the subsidy providers of the activities and the local network

· Carry out recruitment activities; taking care of subsidies together with the finance portfolio holder

 

The time investment:

· You are available for Humanitas for an average of 4 to 8 hours a week (during the day and in the evenings)

Participate in the board meeting of the department approximately 10 times a year (in the evenings)

 

You have:

· a service institution

· organizational ability

Preferably administrative experience

knowledge and affinity with care and assistance in the region; know what questions there are (knowing the person requesting help) and which organizations are active in the field of care and assistance

knowledge and affinity with the association

· good oral and written communication skills

 

You are:

. a team player

· communicative

· someone who likes to make contact with others quickly and easily

· we strive for more diversity in our board and would like to call on women to respond.

Humanitas Nederrijn is there for anyone who can temporarily use a helping hand. More than 150 volunteers are available for you in the municipalities of Ede, Renkum, Rhenen, Veenendaal and Wageningen. Every year we support more than 1000 residents with our activities.
