As a speaker at the Humanistic Funeral Guidance, you make an important contribution to a personal farewell for the surviving relatives.
In consultation with the family, you create the life story of the deceased and tell this story during the funeral ceremony. It is important that you have the following qualities:
- are interested in fellow human beings
- good command of the Dutch language, spoken and written
- Being able to listen well and have a conversation
- Empathy
- Discretion
- Being able to give a speech in public
- Time to regularly (at least once a month) supervise a funeral
- flexibility with regard to employability
Before someone starts working as a speaker, they are first offered training and supervised through internships by experienced speakers
