Ark Haarlem is looking for a board secretary
Will you come support our board?
De Ark is a young, growing and unique living/working community, where people with and without intellectual disabilities live together, work together and celebrate together.
The Ark consists of: a residential house, where nine people share life;
a workshop, where six people with intellectual disabilities come to work every day;
a market garden, where organic vegetables are grown for about 80 households,
and a large community of people who keep it running and have a warm heart. These are parents and relatives, neighbours, friends, donors and people who are drawn to our spirituality.
De Ark Haarlem is part of L'Arche , the international federation of Ark communities.
Management
In addition to approximately 15 paid employees, many volunteers are active in De Ark, including the five members of the foundation's board. They meet about six times a year. It is a remote board that supports or advises the responsible people of the Ark community where necessary.
Tasks
If you want to lend a hand to the board, you are very welcome. We are looking for someone who will provide an agenda in good time and in consultation with the chairman and the community manager and send it with the accompanying documents. Someone who takes minutes of the meeting and stores the minutes and documents in an accessible manner. You also make the annual meeting schedule.
As secretary you are not part of the board itself.
Time investment
Meetings take place on Wednesday afternoons, starting at 4:00 PM. In the weeks before, you spend a few hours preparing it. Of course, the minutes must be worked out and any actions must be followed up. In addition, you are deeply involved in the entire community, which will continue to grow in the coming years at the newly built Dennenheuvel in Bloemendaal.
Compensation
Like the board members, the secretary does not get paid, but if you want you can share in the harvest of our vegetable garden and in all the joys (and sorrows) of our community.
