Swimming buddy wanted for a sweet cheerful young man of 28 years old with Down Syndrome

Rowin loves swimming and snorkeling. He has even snorkeled with dolphins in Egypt. Do you want to go swimming with him now and then? In the vicinity of Eemnes. We are looking forward to!

Who are we?

Woongroep Happy Home is a parent initiative in Eemnes. 16 young people with a moderate intellectual disability live here. It is a friendly group, with a nice mix of young people. They all go to work/daytime activities, they enjoy their free time by doing sports, doing fun activities or relaxing in their own apartment.

Everyone has their own apartment, and there are 2 shared living rooms. Together we ensure that cooking is done, the dishes are done and all other associated tasks. They receive support from an enthusiastic and driven team of supervisors. They live life on everyone's own level just like everyone else.

Activities

You and Rowin go to a swimming pool near Eemnes. Rowin doesn't need help dressing and undressing. Rowin likes to swim laps and is good for his condition and afterwards enjoy a relaxing time in the bubble bath or on the slide. Nice to have a drink afterwards and then back to Eemnes.

We ask

An enthusiastic volunteer who wants to go swimming/snorkeling with Rowin once every 2 to 3 weeks. In addition, we would be delighted if you volunteered to be a buddy for Rowin for a longer period of time, within the pleasant living environment of Happy Home.

Time use

We can discuss this together. It would be nice to swim once every 2 to 3 weeks.

Preferably on weekends or on Wednesday during the day. (not in the evening)
