Operation Climate: (Online) election tour

The elections to the House of Representatives will be in less than a year. After this there is a new government. They will manage the Netherlands on the basis of a new vision. These elections are a great opportunity to capitalize on climate momentum in the Netherlands. In the run-up to the elections, we are going to make climate the numbero uno theme of the elections. 'Milieu Operation', Milieudefensie's campaign, gathers thousands, thousands and thousands of opinions from the Dutch. We are going to show left and right parties that their voters will vote for climate justice in March. And you, together with your Green Traineeship team, will get to work.

Of course a lot has changed because of this crazy Corona time. The initial idea; visiting a number of major festivals, of course, is canceled. Nevertheless, we hope that it is possible to go to small (student) markets. This Green Traineeship will continue even if these events are canceled. Then we will work on moving and planning the tour to the fall of 2020. And we will look for opportunities to digitize the festival tour and activation. Think of the development of an app or website.

At this moment, your predecessors at Milieudefensie, the current Green Trainees, are busy developing a great 'activation'. This is the presentation with which we can easily talk to young people about climate and politics. At the same time, we enthuse and activate these young people so that they too can start working on Operation Climate locally. Together we will make climate the theme of the 2020 elections. In short: your commitment

You will talk to young people in creative (online ways), together with Milieudefensie's communication department, so that you can help set up a youth movement that joins the Operation Climate campaign.

In short: your impact

Thanks to your efforts, we will have at least 2000 conversations with young people about the climate and politics. We keep in touch with 500 of them and take the next step within the campaign.

When?

You start on June 29 and end on July 31. In these 5 weeks you will work 2 days a week. In total you will be working on this project for about 80 hours. As a 'fixed' working day at the office, you can count on Thursday. We also ask that you be flexible, so sometimes you also work on other days.

This block of the Green Traineeship runs from June 20 to August 22. Each project fills in this itself, but we would like to see you on the (online) festive national days of June 20 and August 22.

Location

The events take place across the country. If you are not at an event, which is plausible due to this time of quarantine, you will work at the Milieudefensie office. That is in Amsterdam.
