Summary
Help the experts of Muiderslot make gardens more accessible in order to transfer knowledge to young people and children in the right way!Detailed description

The Muiderslot, a beautiful historic castle, is surrounded by a garden that is full of living history. The experts of the Muiderslot garden would like to work with you to make this green heritage more accessible, and thus transfer their knowledge to young people and children. They can use the enthusiasm and fresh perspective of you as young trainees for this!
You start with your hands in the mud. Together with experts you will work in the garden to learn how the special plants in the garden grow, how they should be cared for, and what underexposed histories lie behind these plants.
Based on this knowledge you will design workshops for children that will be given at the Muiderslot! Think of:
- making health products from natural ingredients;
- cooking with (wild) plants;
- coloring fabrics with plants;
- collect a blueprint and a story about a plant from the children's environment.
Of course you do not have to think about how to put together a workshop on your own. A Fawaka education expert knows exactly how to ensure that your ideas become reality. You will also learn how to appeal to children from different backgrounds and how to teach the importance of jointly caring for people and the planet.
In short your commitment:
- You will work in the gardens of Muiderslot for a number of weeks to gain knowledge about plants;
- You research and develop workshops for children about what you have learned in the gardens of Muiderslot;
- You test your workshops with children yourself.
In short your impact:
- Keeping green heritage alive;
- Let children experience the importance of sustainability in a positive and playful way, and thereby activate them.
