Grandma's Soup Cooking Days connect young volunteers and older adults for soup-making, games, and laughs, building community and fighting loneliness.
What is a Cooking Day?
Cooking Days are organised weekly at changing locations by Grandma's Soup, lasting about 3-4 hours. You are expected at the community centre or care venue at the stated start time. On arrival, you’ll be welcomed warmly and briefed about the day. Together with older adults, we prepare a delicious soup, play games, and bring companionship through conversation. All activity information will be shared a few days beforehand.
Why do we organise Cooking Days?
Grandma's Soup Cooking Days are all about fun and togetherness. Older adults love the company of our volunteers, and cooking soup with young and old together has proven to be a uniquely joyful combination.
