Visiting volunteers for the Congratulatory Service

Drinking a cup of coffee together. A nice conversation. A nice chat. A listening ear. A comforting word. Valuable advice.

Would you like to talk to the elderly and would you like to help us discover how people over 80 in Velsen can be better supported and helped? We are especially looking for visiting volunteers for Santpoort, Driehuis and Velserbroek.

What specifically are you going to do?

• As a visiting volunteer from the Congratulations Service, you pay a short visit to people over 80 in Velsen around their birthday.
• You are committed to talking to people over 80 and listening to their needs with respect for other people's opinions.
• You identify needs for support that can make the life of the over-80s easier and/or more pleasant.
• You support and encourage people over 80 to make use of available support and/or activities.

What can you expect from us?

• When you start with us, you will receive professional training in identifying needs. This provides the necessary skills and techniques to have a successful conversation.
• Flexible working hours. Are you available on a morning, afternoon, evening or even several half days a week? We would love to hear from you!
• You will end up in an enthusiastic and committed team of visiting volunteers.
• You can visit the elderly in your own area.
