Summary
As a volunteer in elderly care, you are indispensable in society. Not only for our clients and residents but also for Evean. Will you come and help us?Detailed description
We are Evean
As a healthcare organization, we provide care to the elderly in a large part of North Holland. This can be within their own living environment, or within one of Evean's care locations where they have their home.
Evean offers care and support in a large part of North Holland, namely the head of North Holland, Zaanstreek/Waterland and Amsterdam. All Evean employees are happy to help residents and clients with (specialized) nursing, care and home care, geriatric rehabilitation care, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, exercise therapy, home guidance, day care and cared for living. All these different types of care make working at Evean so great: after all, there is something for everyone!
As a volunteer in elderly care, you are indispensable in society. Not only for our clients and residents but also for Evean. Your extra help and attention do a person good and are of inestimable value.
Evean has many options for you to help. For example:
- During a creative morning in the department;
- When serving coffee;
- When accompanying residents to the hospital;
- A trip to a museum;
Or perhaps you would like to participate in our client councils and think about how care and support can be done differently or better.
What do we ask of you as a volunteer?
We like that you would like to do something for someone else. As a volunteer you will recognize yourself in the following characteristics:
- Caring;
- Helpful;
- Decisive;
- Enterprising.
You know how to treat clients, residents and colleagues respectfully. You are motivated, can work well together and are representative. You are also aware of your responsibilities, such as keeping agreements.
What does volunteering bring to you?
Volunteer work is very satisfying. A resident's smile sometimes says it all. You can be the bright spot of the day for our elderly. But you can also increase your knowledge and experience. For example in the field of organizing and guiding. For example, you can gain advisory experience in the client council.
As a volunteer in elderly care you will not receive a salary, but you can count on:
- Good guidance and opportunities for development;
- Workshops & theme afternoons;
- A travel allowance;
- Gratitude and appreciation;
- New contacts;
- Activities that suit your capabilities and wishes;
- When you study, this experience will look good on your CV;
- Membership of the Espria Members Association;
- Liability and accident insurance.

Care is human work, but smart techniques and innovations help to safeguard the independence and control of clients/residents. Innovation = looking ahead. This not only has a positive effect on our clients and residents, but also on our employees. With Evean you don't have to worry that you will come to a standstill in your development.
Regardless of how someone receives care, the principle at home is paramount. Both within one of the care locations and in their own living environment. Self-reliance is at the core of this; In this way we support what works and relieve what is no longer possible.
Each intramural location also ensures that living within that location feels like home. For example, because of the various pets that walk around there (cats, chickens and rabbits) and because of fantastic volunteers who like to play a game with the residents or take a walk outside. In this way we ensure that it is not just about providing care, but that the welfare aspect is also discussed.
