Summary

Help the island Daycare centres by making a positive impact for the children of the island.

Detailed description

SECDA is the umbrella organization of St. Maarten’s independent day-care centres and was formally founded in 2014, although in existence before then. Their target group includes 0- to 4-year-old students, 4- to 12-year-old afterschool students, parents and staff of the centres. They contribute to St.Maarten because they are ensuring that staff members are equipped with knowledge of safety and education for the students in their care; providing opportunities for collaboration; ensuring that together we can provide a great foundation for every child who attends one of the centres; creating equal opportunity for each child to thrive no matter their status in life.

Some items that they would need are:

Book Bags, College-Ruled Paper, Age-Appropriate Story Books, General Science books, Language/Grammar books, Educational Software and Memory sticks etc.

Getting there

For any questions, please feel free to contact us. “It’s an easy way to make a huge difference! We’re asking travelers to save a little space in their suitcases for some much-needed supplies. Once you arrive at the resort, all you have to do is drop these items off at the front desk and you’re done. It’s that simple. Guests would also be able to drop off cash at the front office so that we can buy the supplies

About Divi Little Bay Beach Resort Sint-Maarten

Pack for a Purpose is a non-profit organization that positively impacts communities around the world by assisting travelers who want to take meaningful contributions to the destinations they visit. The supply lists for destinations on packforapurpose.org are provided directly by the local community-based projects that receive and use the supplies, enabling travelers to make informed decisions and take items that meet the needs of those who will be using them.

The donations received at Divi’s St. Maarten resorts will support The New Start for Children Foundation, a local foster home for children of all ages, and SECDA, an umbrella organization of St. Maarten’s independent daycare centers.

Project 1:
The New Start for Children Foundation is a foster home with a maximum capacity of twenty children ranging in age from 0 to 18 years of age. The purpose in general is to foster strong, capable human beings and to assist parents/families who are in a critical and needy situation, with care and raising of their children. In particular, the introduction and offering of other kinds of educational and informative services, in order to stimulate the consciousness of the children towards the society in which they live.

Project 2:
SECDA is the umbrella organization of St. Maarten’s independent day-care centres. Although it was already in operation, SECDA was formally founded in 2014. Their target group includes 400-500 0- to 4-year-old students, 4- to 12-year-old afterschool students, parents, and staff of the centres. SECDA contributes to St. Maarten by ensuring that staff members are equipped with knowledge of safety and education for the students in their care. They also provide opportunities for collaboration, create equal opportunity for each child to thrive no matter their status in life, and ensure that together we can provide a great foundation for every child, who attends one of the centres.
