Production manager (M / F) for the Deventer Youth Musical

Every week, 30-50 talented children aged 8-18 years rehearse with the ultimate goal of a grand performance in the Deventer Schouwburg. Do you want to help us make this a success next year?

The Deventer Youth Musical Foundation originated from the “Deventer Opera and Operetta Association” (DOOV) founded in 1957. The youth department exists since 1967. Since 2002 we have adopted the name “Deventer Youth Musical”, because we play youth musicals and this name more suits the young character of the association.

Our cast consists of very talented and enthusiastic children and young people aged from 8 to 18 years.

In addition to the artistic direction (director, dance and singing teacher, the crew consists of, the board, production management, set crew, costume crew, technique and of course a hairdressing and make-up crew, all on a voluntary basis.

The artistic direction takes care of the creative part of the performance. On average, 50 volunteers are involved in a production in various disciplines.

Unfortunately, after many years of great work, our current production manager is leaving us and we are looking for a new production manager (m / f)

What are you going to do?

• You ensure that everything runs smoothly by coordinating between artistic direction, the board, the secretariat, the children, the parents, the theater and other locations, PR team and the teams
• At the start of the season, together with the artistic team, you draw up a script and an annual plan in which the activities and “who does what” for the rest of the year are recorded.
• On rehearsal afternoons (Thu from 4.45 to 6.15 pm) you are present and you keep track of the cancellations in advance and pass them on to the artistic direction.
• You also keep in touch with the children and parents and you are the point of contact for questions.
• You are also present and you help organize the annual musical camp (weekend), the walk-through (twice a year in the weekend, the CD recording and the promotion activities (which you initiate yourself)
• The production manager is also regularly present at the board meeting

All in all, depending on the distribution in the annual schedule, this will cost you approximately 10-20 hours per week
