Setting up and guiding a support group.

Job description:

Setting up a support group. Searching for a location (if needed). Promote the support group and, if necessary, recruit participants. Provide information to and welcome new participants. Organizing a minimum of one and a maximum of two meetings per month. Guiding the group discussions. Monitor the group process and ensure that all participants feel safe. Maintaining contact with the Depression Association and passing on lists of participants.

Job requirements:

You are able to use your own experience. You are able to give participants space to find their own way. A warm personality and a genuine interest in others. Feeling people and being able to put them at ease. Be flexible, meetings can go differently than you have planned in advance. You live in the place of residence or near the location where the support group is held. Availability of a time investment of approx. 5 hours per month for a longer period (at least one year), given the nature of the group. The possibility to come to Amersfoort for a first acquaintance for a (group) information meeting about the position.

The counselor is guided and supported by the regional coordinator for practical, substantive and personal matters.
