Every other week you help cook or bake with a small group of visitors to De Herberg, a drop-in center for the homeless.
Detailed description
Drop-in centre De Herberg is a valuable, warm and indispensable place in the city centre of Apeldoorn. It is a homely meeting place for everyone who is looking for it. In practice, we mainly receive people in De Herberg who often do not find the hearing and connection they deserve in daily life. Some of our visitors do not have a home themselves, others do have a home but find it difficult to find a home there.
By working in De Herberg you offer an inviting activity where meeting and creativity are important aspects that people seek and need.
Together with Arjanne, one of the professionals at De Herberg, you offer an accessible activity as a cooking and baking enthusiast. For this you make a program together with what will be cooked or baked when. You think about which activities are fun and affordable and you also include suggestions from the participants. On Thursday mornings in the odd weeks you offer these activities to those who have registered for them. You also provide coffee and tea for the participants and you are open to contact and a chat.
The cooking and baking morning is from 10:00 - 12:00. As a staff member you are there from 9:30 to prepare coffee and tea and the materials needed for the activity.
Flexibility and independence are desirable within this work.
Sometimes you will work with a group of participants, but it can also happen that there is only one person.

At De Herberg we not only offer a listening ear, but also meals and participation in various events
activities. We also facilitate a letter address and consultation hours where personal attention is central. We strive to respond to the needs of our visitors with our activities, in order to contribute to a better quality of life for our visitors.
