Looking for a buddy to support families - volunteer vacancy - municipality of Westerkwartier.
Sometimes it is not possible to do it alone and a family could use some support. Are you that buddy who wants to support a parent or family with respect, sincere attention and sometimes practical help? Then we are looking for you.
For a family in the Westerkwartier we are looking for a buddy who can offer a listening ear and who wants to help with practical matters. The family consists of a single mother and her two children. As a buddy you take the time to talk about the things she encounters, you offer solutions if necessary or offer support when necessary.
As a volunteer you visit the family for about 1.5 hours to 3 hours at a time. This could be once a week or every other week for 1 to 2 years. The family is supported by Cosis. The coordinator knows the family and backgrounds, so that you can consult if there are issues that you run into. In addition, training courses and exchange meetings for volunteers are organised.
