Creative companion for Between Art and Coffee

Do you dream of a Picasso on the wall, do you prefer to spend your Saturday in a museum or do you prefer to stand behind the easel yourself? In short: are you a creative person who likes to watch art, create and talk about it? Then we have a great project for you! We connect you at Tussen Kunst & Coffee to an elderly Nijmegen person with the same passion.

Ten elderly elderly people live at the Boszicht residential care location in Rotterdam, who have had artistic inspiration for decades. During the project Between Art & As a young companion and old master, you will work on coffee together with art. In May and June, your favorite artists will be discussed during six encounters, but there is also room to let go with a brush, pencil, camera, chisel or modeling clay. Whatever you want! On Saturday 22 June we will festively close with a Grande Vernissage, where you can show any homemade creations.

What your encounters look like, depends on your interests . One lady loves realistic landscapes, while another gentleman wants to know everything about photography and modern art. Often residents can contribute less actively due to physical complaints or memory problems, but they like to look at nice pictures with you in an art book.

How does it work? it exactly?

As soon as the required number of participants has registered, we will close the registrations. We then select matches between participants and residents of residential care location Boszicht from the registrations and inform you accordingly. Tuesday 7 May there is a kick-off at Boszicht. Then you can get to know the other volunteers and we will tell you everything you need to know about the content of the project and how to deal with the elderly. We then make the final matches between the buddies and the residents of Boszicht, so that you can visit that same weekend to meet your buddy!

Why Between Art & Coffee?

We think it is valuable to bring together different generations with the help of art. We hope that young creative people find it fun and valuable to be involved with an older artistic person. These visits are very special for the elderly and we think that the project also contributes to their well-being. Between Art & Coffee is a collaboration between Lindenberg, ZZG healthcare group and Club Gold .
