Neighborhood families in Wageningen are looking for a patient and warm support family for a single father and his 6-year-old son, preferably with animals.
This father and son have had a tough time. They came from Syria two years ago and have been living in Wageningen for six months now. The father does everything he can to build a life here, but it is a tough job to do alone.
His son can play alone, but especially enjoys doing things together. He loves animals, likes to build, swim and occasionally watch a movie. At home, the boy and his father speak English. The boy understands Dutch very well and therefore attends a regular primary school.
It would be very nice for both to join a family where there is a mother figure. A family that also has "real" attention for him and wants to play with him, take care of animals or go to the playground. It's nice if he gets personal attention. We are looking for a support family who can approach him with patience. A day out would be great too.

Neighborhood families is looking for a support family for this boy:
- Where the boy is allowed to come one afternoon during the week (preferably on Monday) or one day at the weekend;
- Where his father is also occasionally welcome to join us for dinner;
- Where speaking English is not a problem;
- With a child of the same age, but also a grandpa and grandma are also invited to respond!
What do we have to offer you?:
The Neighborhood Families coordinator supports both the support family and the requesting family in the process of searching and connecting.
What makes the work worthwhile?:
As a support family, you share what is going well for you. A demand family experiences air and support because the task of parenting is shared and you are not alone.

This way children get some extra love and attention and parents are relieved for a while. The help is everyday and friendly. Demand and support families make agreements about support under the supervision of the Neighborhood Families coordinator.
