Some of our residents would like to cycle a bit more, but are unable to do so independently; would you like to guide them?
Boszicht is a small-scale private housing initiative for people with a mild to moderate intellectual disability in Apeldoorn. The residents are between 20-40 years old and live on Boszicht through their PGB and Wajong.
We are fortunate to be able to live and work in a beautiful large monumental building. There is support at Boszicht 24 hours a day.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Some of our residents would like to cycle more often. This can be to or from work, but also just a nice bike ride in the evenings or the weekend. How, what, who, when, how often, is in consultation with you. Just when you could.
It's about:
- A young man who occasionally likes to cycle on his sporty tandem in his spare time. He has a tandem where he sits in a kind of lounge chair at the front. You're behind that. It is a bike with many gears; you can make great trips with it. ;-)
- A young man who wants to go to and from work by bicycle. He has to be at work between a quarter to 9 and 9 am (15 minutes by bike from Boszicht) and at 4 pm his working day is over.
- A young lady who wants to cycle to and from work with her tricycle. She has to be at work around 9 am (10 min by bike from Boszicht + 5 min by bike parking and walk to work). Which is also possible...: if she has been taken by bus in the morning, she likes to be brought home in the afternoon by tandem. You are then at her work at a quarter to 4 with the tandem of Boszicht to pick her up.
So... Do you like cycling? And do you get along well with people with intellectual disabilities?
