The Velsen Library is looking for volunteers to guide children and young people during digital workshops of Lab out of the Box on Friday afternoons from 3 pm to 5 pm, alternately in Velserbroek and IJmuiden. During these workshops, children and young people aged 7 to 17 get to work with new technologies such as robots or gaming. What are the activities? In order to realize the Lab out of the Box workshops, the Velsen Library is looking for volunteers who can help children and young people during the workshops. There is no lesson, but we work on the basis of a lesson letter corresponding to the theme of the workshop. The participants are guided in learning, collaboration and research on the basis of the lesson letter. As a volunteer you are available on Friday afternoon for at least three half-days per month. What do we ask of you? • you have knowledge and experience in the digital world • you have programming experience (programming language does not matter) • you enjoy working with children and young people • you are available for at least 3 half-days per month • you can explain well and are patient • you are prepared to submit a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG).
