The Enschede Library is looking for: Host / Hostess (on a voluntary basis)

De Bibliotheek is the place to be in Enschede for information, knowledge, culture and reading pleasure for and from everyone. We stimulate curiosity, provide inspiration and invite people to meet. Young and old, member or non-member, can walk in. In addition to the central library in the center, there are four neighborhood libraries, a youth library and a book at home service. Together we ensure that the Library is an environment where young and old can discover the pleasure of reading and learning. Nothing is necessary, everything is allowed. You can study and work with us, follow a course online, or just relax with a magazine or good book. In short, the Library is a place where everyone is welcome! And you can help us create awareness of our beautiful work.

Together you ensure that the visitor feels welcome and comfortable in the Library.

In addition:

Guide your visitors and answer questions or refer them to a colleague

You identify questions or problems with the visitor and help where necessary

Make sure that visitors to the Library are seen and heard

Help your employees where necessary during your scheduled shift

What do we ask of you:

Representative, hospitable, customer-oriented and independent

Open attitude (visible, approachable but not obtrusive)

Affinity with people, cultures and media

Reliable (we can count on you)

Involved with the local community

You are available for at least one part of the day per week (also evening and / or Saturday)

Good command of the Dutch language and good communication skills

Flexible and eager to learn (in a developing organization)

Good social skills
