Join the Anesthesiology Interest Group in partnership for a sports day and workshop on pain management for youth.
The Anesthesiology Interest Group is partnering with New Start for Children Foundation, an organization in Sint Maarten that provides care, support, and safe housing for vulnerable children and youth. During this special community engagement event, AUC student volunteers will spend the day connecting with children through education, movement, and mentorship.
Volunteers will lead an interactive pain management workshop designed to help children understand healthy ways to respond when they are physically or emotionally hurting.
After the workshop, volunteers and children will participate together in a fun sports day on the AUC campus focused on teamwork, physical activity, and positive social interaction. Students will also share lunch with the children, providing additional opportunities for connection and supportive conversation in a relaxed setting.
This experience is especially valuable for students interested in pediatrics, adolescent medicine, anesthesiology, family medicine, psychology, or community health, as it provides hands-on opportunities to strengthen communication skills with children while promoting wellness and supportive care in the community.
